So many things undone

Words & Music by Henrik Bank © 2012
Mamma are you here with me?
Can you even see — life’s been okay
Have you seen their little eyes Kissed them both at night
Sure they’d love kissing you

You should have known better
not to do things the way you did
Should have know better
And know I feel just like a kid

Without a place to start
When I’m down and feeling blue
And with a broken heart
I feel lost here without you
And now here on my own
Wish that I could show you all the things I’ve done
The place where I belong
So many things undone

Mamma when I’m afraid
Can you hear me pray — Can’t stop crying
Are you watching over me
Wish I could believe
Can’t you see what I miss?

You should have known better
And now there is no one to see them smile
How could I let her
Love to hold you for a while

Without a place to start
When I’m down and feeling blue
And with a broken heart
I feel lost here without you
And now here on my own
Wish that I could show you all the things I’ve done
The place where I belong
So many things undone

I Wish you are all right — where ever you are
And I know we will make it — now we’ve come
Now we’ve come this far
But I can’t help thinking how life would have been
If you were here too
But I know they’ll never know
Now they’ll never know you

But I wish you are alright

Without a place to start
When I’m down and feeling blue
And with a broken heart
I feel lost here without you
And now here on my own
Wish that I could show you all the things I’ve done
The place where I belong
So many things undone

I’m right here and need so desperately a place to start
When I’m down and feeling blue
And with a broken heart –
I feel lost here without you
And I’d give anything
Just to see them in your arms so warm and strong
To show where they belong
So many things undone

I guess most people remember the year 2001 for the terrible events on 11’th september. To me however, 2001 was the year my entire emotional register was used.

It all started quite romantic and beautifull, with my marrige in spring 2001, followed by the most amazing honeymoon. But it was barely over before joy and happiness was turned into greed and sorrow as I far to soon had to say goodbye to my mother after she has been ill for some years.

I have for quite some time now wanted to write a song to my mother – describing the feeling loosing your parent, even before you reach to establish your own family.

But just recently – more than 10 years after she passed away, I had the courage to write down those feelings – and another 2 years time before I dared to play it to anybody.
